Evaluation of Appropriate Dosage of Antihypertensive Drugs in Chronic Kidney Disease Patients with Hemodialysis

Abstract

Hypertension with complications of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is currently common and increasing. CKD is kidney damage with a decrease in the Glomerular Filtration Rate. The most widely used CKD therapy is hemodialysis therapy. Adjustment of therapy is necessary due to the type of antihypertensive drug being dialyzed and the body's abnormal response to hemodialysis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the appropriateness of dosage for the use of antihypertensive drugs in chronic kidney disease patients undergoing hemodialysis using a sample of medical records of outpatients and inpatients with a diagnosis of CKD with hypertension undergoing hemodialysis. This research method is non-experimental observational, data is taken retrospectively and descriptive analysis. The results of the evaluation of the use of antihypertensive drugs in CKD patients at Sidoarjo District Hospital showed that the dose was 93.25% correct and the dose was 100% correct at Siloam Surabaya. Based on a sample size of 31 inpatients. As many as 33 outpatients, 35 patients (48.16%) obtained results from using ARB antihypertensive drugs with the drug name Candesartan with doses of 1 x 16 mg and 1 x 8 mg. There were 62 patients (96.88%) who adjusted the dose of antihypertensive medication correctly. Laboratory data on kidney function and blood pressure, the average creatinine was 10.4 mg/dL and BUN was found to be 71.14 mg/dL and initial blood pressure was 166/100 mmHg and at the end 120/90 mmHg.
